Methods Dashboard
The Methods Department (often called Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Process Planning) is the “brain” of the factory floor. While the Design Department focuses on what to make, the Methods Department focuses entirely on how to make it most efficiently. They act as the bridge between R&D and the actual production line.

NC Program
Entering and uploading NC Program number and respective document.
Setup Time and Cycle Time
Specifying the time required to do setup by setter and also cycle time for each operation which help planning and scheduling the machine during production. Uploading setup instruction file and program instruction file are also responsible by methods team which help Setter during setup.
Machines
Methods team should also list machines can be used to perform operation a particular operation. During planning and scheduling, only from these machines are available to select.
Tools, Fixtures, Instruments
For each operation, the required fixtures, tools and instruments must be listed. On writing program, most software allows you to export loots in the excel format or html format. These html or excel format can be uploaded to ERP. On uploading tools, ERP will check against available tools in the inventory and if any tool not available which will be moved to create a purchase indent to procure.

Methods Department operates under the “CQD” mantra.
Cost: Reducing manufacturing costs by optimizing material usage and reducing labour hours.
Quality: Standardizing processes so that every part is made the exact same way, every time.
Delivery: Shortening “Lead Time” by removing non-value-added steps (like unnecessary walking or waiting).
